I'm moving in two weeks, still New York for now. The idea was floated over dinner on Tuesday, explored on Thursday, and will be hopefully finalized tomorrow in-between everything else! I found the antique coromandel screen of my dreams, on hold (my sister, and future flatmate: "I can already see your robe slung over the top") and pledges include our Jazz Age Swedish/New Yorker grandmother's ("Billie" nee "Ethel" nee "Claricia" –– her warmly signed picture from Harry Houdini is addressed to Billie, so that's the name she preferred. Amazingly, she wasn't the famous one in her marriage; as is the case with cousin Christine, I've only seen my grandfather in rapturous newspaper clippings) bar cart (father) and storied old bed from New Orleans (mother). Plus, our own towel warmer in homage to English hospitality. Six weeks in Europe this year, and I always found a dressing table and time to linger. Magic seemed to follow. S'more please...
