Longtime readers may remember that
I went to Rome late last fall to help
publicize the world premiere of
The Afterlight. Very longtime readers may remember that I publicized one of the directors, Craig Macneill's,
Sundance appearance for his early film,
Late Bloomer. The news today is that
The Afterlight, very much made in New York, is getting a hometown run at the Quad from September 10-16. There are two press screenings this week, so let me know if that's your cup of tea. Meanwhile, Brit glam rag
i-D sums it up best:
"The Afterlight premiered at The Rome International Film
Festival earlier this year and has been compared to the poetry of
Michelangelo Antonioni and Russian and Lithuanian cinema, with a gentle
nod to the aesthetic of Gus Van Sant and the era of silent film." Who doesn't love all that?
