I'm in San Francisco, back where I started from. There's something about the West Coast that's very different, and that I like very much. Right now I am at Ritual Roasters in the Mission, and I have a few more days to hang out before I fly back to New York and a new season begins. Stephen Elliott, of The Rumpus, and Jen Bekman, of 20x200, are both in the neighborhood, but other than running into them at cafes, I've been laying low and catching up on sleep and walking around and the sweet solitude I enjoy so much. Every night I hang out at home here and listen to music and make dinner and swan about. My job requires me to consistently come up with ideas that no one has ever had before, and so recharging my imagination is always a professional priority. If I feel up to it, I might check out the DeYoung Museum and the Avedon show at SFMoMA. Yesterday I went to New People World in Japantown, and I would call that essential. Tonight I'm going to hang out with Matt and Ian from Japanther before their show at the Hemlock, and talk about some ways that we might collaborate in the future. Come out if you're in town!
I wish I was in SF to walk around with you. Remember our trip to the MOMA the last time we were both in San Francisco at the same time? I think that's when we saw the Lewis Caroll (sp?) photo exhibition and the perfect shade of (copyrighted) blue. I hope you make it to the MOMA this time!

Been thinking of you too! Where are you these days? And why do you have an extra last name? Are you MARRIED?! Xo
