Longtime readers may recall that I publicized Anne Landsman's powerfully moving, dazzlingly lyrical novel, The Rowing Lesson, a year or two ago, in both hardcover and paperback. Since then, it's received rave reviews and astonishing accolades worldwide, including Landman's being named a finalist for the prestigious Sami Rohr Prize for Jewish Literature and Harold U. Ribalow Prize here in the United States and the TWO major literary prizes she just won for the book in her native South Africa, where The Rowing Lesson is set (The M-Net Literary Award and the Sunday Times Fiction Prize). Can you believe it? Believe it.
