Last night I woke up at 4am stressed out about work and couldn't fall back asleep. It was a kind of abject misery. I did a few things today for each of my clients and then tried to chill out maximally because you need the space to create or none of it comes together. I had brunch with my friend who loves the movies, who loaned me Closely Watched Trains and Battle of Algiers, and then we hung out for a little while and listened to The Fall and I really felt like a teenager again, and then we contemplated getting passes to a hotel pool but it was too much money so we went to Kim's and I bought Satyricon because the above image on the cover absolutely captured my imagination, and also Three Times. And he bought Two-Lane Blacktop, which I loved. And then I did some other stuff, too, just to slow the general pace of things down to something more manageable (for breaking news on my life and publicity projects, check out twitter.com/luxlotus) , but mostly right this second I've got the windows open, Etta James and The Gossip playing, and all I plan to do tonight is exhale. I can dig that beat.
the boy who plays Gitone in Satyricon, Max Born, is the brother of a friend of ours in London. in fact, Stuart tried to chat her up at her own engagement party (mind you, not knowing she was the honoree of the evening). too silly. we hope to see you while you are here in our fair state, Nebraska. your friends, the Chittendens.
