I've been back for a day and it's been a force of nature (Montreal was charmingly uneventful: I adored Le Plumard, which I highly recommend. My room for a week, with its ceiling fan, private balcony and perfectly accented down-to-earth modernist chic, was sublime. When not reading Sentimental Education or Orlando in bed, I spent most of my time in the city strolling the streets in classic flaneur fashion, and hanging out at cafes in and around the Mile End neighborhood and Mont Royal, like Casa del Popolo and L'Express). Then I came home to New York, went straight to work, started scheduling my life for the next two months, made a list of all the errands that I had to take care after being gone for a season (including buying a new bed!), and best of all made a resy to take my sister to 21 for her birthday tomorrow night. More later, including the return of The Smart Set, Windowlicker, and everything lovely, in fact.
P.S. Check out my pal Cian's brilliant project TURFTECHNICS.
P.P.S. And Dino's bold new venture, BULB: projections in fashion & style.
Aw, I'm glad you're back! It sounds like an amazing summer. We should have lunch soon so you can tell me all about it...
