Perhaps I find this little table charming because, as with vans and houseboat living, I am not old enough to have reviled "shades of macrame" the first time around. Adorable in "olivine," it reminds me of the tumble-down chic of my friends' apartments in New Orleans when we were students, all cheap furniture and never-long-enough drapes in clumsily partitioned old mansions, with no shortage of overflowing ashtrays and perfect bohemian bonhomie.
