Today has been a really nice day although I have been working more or less since the moment I woke up and I am about to do a two-hour conference call. Still, many pleasures: ordering delicious Japanese food for a late lunch/early dinner that was a perfect supper, listening to Cape Town indie rockers The Dirty Skirts while handling correspondence, reading a random guest blog post ("Persephone Speaks: The Plum Woman") that instantly motivated me to make a note to buy that book, and coming across a review of an event that I recently publicized that was just, well, glowing. Says an editor of the Berlin in Lights Festival blog:
"Last night’s “Talents II. New Photography from Berlin” exhibition opening uptown at the Goethe-Institut was certainly the liveliest event I’ve been to yet, with a really mixed crowd with lots of young, artsy types and wine flowing and good conversation..."
Fantastic! Well, I have lots more deadlines to meet this week and then if I get a moment, I may relax. But you know what that means for me; I'll just be on to something else, like styling my elegantly tattered "house-party look" to saunter out for a stroll or similar adventure in my neighborhood and thankfully not strike-addled Paris! Things will be quiet this week, at least in this space, but I'll be back soon and, as ever, yours. XXXX.
P.S. If you're looking for plane or train reading, I'm publicizing the new novels Season of Gene by Dallas Hudgens and The Rowing Lesson by Anne Landsman; and on the travel theme-- next-wave new media project 1000stories.com has just wrapped.
I am half way through "Season of Gene" and am enjoying his style. I highly recommend it! Will blog about it soon.
