Basically, I put off wrapping up The LDN-DBV Report, a collection of notes on my recent European travels, because I'd probably rather be there than here in New York at the moment. At any rate, London was fun. Highlights include tea with Claire at the Wolseley, of course, where we spent three hours trying to mutually decipher complex cross-cultural dating codes (among many other enchanting topics), lunch with Elena at the ICA Cafe, as she showed me some of her thesis collection for Central Saint Martins, where she focuses on exploring the aesthetics of technology (next stop for her: the hypercool Distance Lab project in the North of Scotland), discussing the relationship between ornament and nature, strolling endlessly on my own for the best windowlicking ever at Pringle, Vivienne Westwood, Brown's, The Pineal Eye, et al (although sadly not Dover Street Market, which was closed for the Bank Holiday when I went by), searching for the perfect neon Maryjane's with a bow while humming Klaxons' genius cover of '90s dance classic (that I loved the first time around) "It's Not Over," dinner at Busaba Eathai--my favorite while I was there, laughing now as I skim over pages of copious notes that I don't feel like retyping: "It wasn't that my traditional English breakfast was bad, just that I couldn't believe everything on the plate had been fried;" at Topshop: "Dolman sleeves are the enemy," and, most of all, theorizing how quickly I can go back. Herewith, the rest of my snapshots:
The Naval Club, where I stayed (loved it, and anyone can join)

Spotted in Mayfair: my dream car!!
I wanted to spend the day in this tiny, tidy park (it's the topiaries)
The best airport lunch I've ever had: Perfect sandwich, British Vogue.

Oooo, the Ploughman's sandwich! I worked in London after university and the last thing I ate was one of those and an egg and cress at the airport. I still have the wrappers from the sandwiches...
