This week has been a blur of meetings work, brilliant things and sparkling coincidences and let's just say I've been putting my time in, paying some dues, punching that clock, and things are looking pretty good from here. I wanted to tell you all about at least a dozen charming people and projects I crossed paths with this week but then my internet connection went on the fritz this morning and so instead I'm at a cafe and need all the juice in my laptop for work correspondence.
In the meantime, hot tips: the best free wireless access downtown can be found at IniAni and 88 Orchard, both on the Lower East Side. And L&O Framing is unbelievable -- I'd never go anywhere else. Also in Tribeca, the shoe repair shop on the southwest corner of Duane & Broadway; I took my beloved black boots there, so beloved that I wore holes in them, and now they look like new.
Two events next week in New York that I hope you'll join us for if you're in the neighborhood: Upstairs at the Square (see here for the latest, best take on January) and the Hip Tranquil Chick Party.
Also on Wednesday, New Jewish Fiction at Makor and Tuesday, Writers as Visual Artists at the Merc.
