Just returned from a perfect weekend at a friend's place in Connecticut, out in the country by the water... everything so pristine and relaxing and divine! My favorite moment was Friday night when a dinner guest complimented the hostess on her gorgeous crystal goblets and I commented that my mother recently gave me some Waterford stemware and they both turned to me and said, What's your pattern? Naturally I had no idea, and absolutely loved feeling uncool in that particular way. Other highlights: lying in bed reading, taking a nap yesterday afternoon (something I very seldom do), savoring good company, enjoying life et al.
"I can never get over when you're on the beach how beautiful the sand looks and the water washes it away and straightens it up and the trees and the grass all look great. I think having land and not ruining it is the most beautiful art that anybody could ever want to own." -- The Philosophy of Andy Warhol
