Shopping, even the imaginary kind, can be tiring. Lately I have not been feeling like much of a materialist, and so the Windowlickers have not been as fresh and fantastic as I prefer.
With that in mind, I bow to Diana Vreeland's famous dictum, With health, a good figure and brown skin in the summer, people should spend very little money on their clothes.
Through Labor Day, every Windowlicker will feature an item that costs less than 30 dollars. After that, a return to luxury and tibetan lamb's wool furniture for the cooler months.
The bewitching egg- and bubble- shaped skirt trend has about ten minutes of looking inventive left, so take advantage soon if you're inclined (I'd pair it with something more like this as far as shoes go).
[black knit bubble-skirt dress, $19.99 @ target.com]
Windowlicker - from the French for window shopping: faire du lèche-vitrine - appears on Tuesday and Thursdays at 10am EST.
