As we New Yorkers are sadly without a Target outpost in the city, I stalked the aisles when I was in the country this weekend (for a fix, check out slavetotarget.com). My red cart welcomed a little black dress, tan leather slippers, coral bath towels, a lamp shaped like la tour Eiffel, a milk glass vase, Andy Warhol electric pink and yellow daisy plates, and domestic staples... In related news, I was thrilled to learn this evening that Tayari Jones (The Untelling) joins Bill Gordon (Mary After All) in Target's discerning selection of "Bookmarked Breakouts: hand-picked titles from emerging authors." While I wasn't involved in the selection process or Target's decision, it's gratifying to know that quality literary fiction has true commercial appeal in the marketplace, and that America's favorite stylish superstore appreciates two of my clients as much as I do!
