"Linda Fargo has been named Bergdorf Goodman's new women's fashion director, reports Women's Wear Daily." [via globalshop]. This is very intriguing news! Fashion Week Daily has all the details on various role changes, but I am most interested in the ascent of raven-loving Linda Fargo, whose visual displays in the windows have always enchanted me (I went a block out of my way to peek at the latest motif yesterday).
Knowing that Fargo's artistry, flair and fashion-forward eye (see: Assouline's Dreams Through The Glass, which I've been meaning to check out forever, and Store Windows, published by Watson-Guptill) will now be turned to women's fashion may actually get me into the store, a place that I have always regarded as the province of old people and halfwits.
Related only topically, and very cool: G'bani, a Chicago luxury fashion boutique unafraid to make political statements in its windows, and Communist Store Windows by David Hlynsky.
The communist store windows are fantastic!
