I would not characterize myself as a "shoe person" by any stretch of the imagination (I mostly wear black woven leather ballerina flats or tan cowboy boots every day - although I am pretty sweet on my recently acquired pine green suede moccasins), but now and then something less practical and wholly seductive razes my indifference. To wit:
"budding author wedges
Perfect for your first book signing. Rich cognac leather is fashioned into a stylish standing-room-only wedge, topped with a kilt of fringe and lined in gilded floral satin."

They vaguely remind me of an enchanting setting I found myself in not too long ago - dark wood furniture, hand flocked wallpaper, house stationary - admiring a portrait of Henry James as a young man.
спасибо (thank you in Russian; pronounced "spahSEEba") to Jen "Your Mother Wear a Peasant Skirt" Bekman for the tip!
