Anyone who has met me in person more than once has probably observed that I am a little wrap-crazy, especially when it comes to the black alpaca poncho that an archeologist's assistant picked up for me in Huarez, Peru, a few years ago. It's a three-season staple, but I am a specialist in all styles, as they say, and I never met a cape I didn't like.
Here's a treat I'll share with you - a vintage spread from an issue of McCall's (February 1971) that my mother found somewhere on her last trip home to Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The magazine is not in very good condition, but these two pages were enough to send me over the moon:
