Exciting news from filmmaker Craig Macneill:
"I have been awarded a 2010 Jerome Foundation Grant for a short film I will direct titled HENLEY. I co-wrote the screenplay with the author of my Sundance selected short film LATE BLOOMER, Clay McLeod Chapman. The story is loosely based on a chapter from Clay's critically acclaimed novel MISS CORPUS. We are currently scheduled to begin production in June 2010.
THE AFTERLIGHT, a feature film I co-wrote and co-directed with Alexei Kaleina, had its world premiere at the Rome Film Festival on October 18th, 2010. The film was very well received and the reviews were strong. From the festival program:
"The Afterlight is a debut of suggestions that proudly display an echo of Antonioni (and perhaps Russian or Lithuanian influences in the lyrical vocation of the landscape and the mystery of the characters' thoughts). The two young directors speak the language of cinema with precision, expertise, and charm, where the story is driven like a breeze of pure images."
THE AFTERLIGHT stars Michael Kelly, Rip Torn, Ana Asensio, and Jicky Schnee.
A video installation I am creating, based on a painting by Antoinette Wysocki, will be screened in Hong Kong at the Cat Street Gallery coinciding with an exhibition of Antoinette's work. The opening night reception will be held April 12th, 2010. The exhibition runs from April 10th - May 22nd 2010.My short film, LOBOS (WOLVES), recently premiered before Xavier Dolan's I KILLED MY MOTHER at the Zagreb Film Festival. LOBOS is screening at festivals throughout Spain.
This Thursday, February 11th, LATE BLOOMER will be screening alongside several other short films at FONTANA'S (105 Eldridge Street). 8pm! Hope to see you there."
