The truly charming thing about people who know you pretty well is that when you beg them for days to come and change the light in your kitchen and then they finally say they will, the phone rings five minutes later with the one essential query that never occurred to you: "Do you have light bulbs?"And then not only do they solve that conundrum, but they take you to brunch at Brown. Lucky you.
