How is it that the New Year only began two weeks ago? So much has happened that I've spent most of my time, uh, trying to keep up with it. This weekend, I'll be speaking at the opening and closing of the Girls Write Now Annual Winter Reading (Flavorpill-approved!). Did I mention that the venue can seat a thousand? God, I hope there are some familiar faces among them! I hope that people come at all! I am planning my outfit and don't expect to buy anything new, but with all the finger-snapping whimsy required of Windowlicker, I've got my eye on the prettiest worry beads I can imagine. They remind me of Katy Perry's cover of "Black & Gold," which is beautiful on its own and for the meaningful quality of the lyrics, and also for the fact that she utterly transcends my expectations-- my bottom line in '09.
