Leafing through a notebook that I kept last spring and summer, I found this quote that strikes me as even more emblematic of my mood today:
"When we accept small wonders, we qualify ourselves to imagine great wonders. Thus, if we admit that an oyster -- radiant, limp, succulent and serene -- can egress from a shell, we are ready to imagine Aphrodite exiting from a similar address."
-- Tom Robbins, Jitterbug Perfume
am I to infer that you HAVEN'T read it?
hie thee hence, wench!!
I love this man and I don't care that he writes the same novel each time or that he writes high on psychedelic mushrooms. LOVE HIM.
