Windowlicker
Today's Windowlicker guest editor is Tayari Jones. Tayari will always have a special place in my heart because she was one of the first fiction writers I worked with as an independent publicist (she would technically have been my first fiction client except when I was thinking about this earlier I realized that the first two literary books I publicized (her novel, The Untelling, and Quinn Dalton's story collection, Bulletproof Girl) came out on the same day. And I was in Amsterdam that day. My life per usual!).
Ms. Jones says:
As we enter the sweat-suited post-911 holiday airport-madness I am nostalgic for the time when folks traveled by train, in civilized splendor.

Although I still think of Dooney and Burke as the Talbot's of handbags, I have been crushed out over this new line. Giraffe, apparently, is the new leopard.
