Postcard from Japan (#7)

Tonight's high point: visiting the Baby, the Stars Shine Bright shop and seeing Lolitas in their natural habitat! It was absolutely unreal and fabulous and I tried on a variety of head coverings including rabbit ears and some bonnet-y headband-type things with quite a lot of lace but none of them looked half as clever on me as the women with the derby-like hats. Underwhelming: the Park Hyatt, known for its role in Lost in Translation, a movie I didn't like, to be honest, but stopping by for a drink seemed like the thing to do. The setting on the top floors of an office building is sort of exotic and intriguing at first glance, but it's basically exactly like a boring, exey hotel in New York. And strangely out-of-place because there are so few skyscrapers in earthquake-prone Tokyo; frankly, I'd be clueless if I were staying there, too. Good Scotch, sure, but ultimately I have to rate it zero rabbit ears. Bit of a shame!
