Postcard from London
Full report(s) and a few photos forthcoming but I can tell you that I am already rather desperately missing Dubrovnik, an absolute PARADISE if there ever was one. In general, think: [what's the word for something you long for madly that keeps slipping away? TORTUROUS] BEAUTY. Specifically, a Medieval walled city PAVED in marble, ENDLESS views of azure sea, waves lapping up against rocky cliffs, meandering paths alongside stone buildings with orange tiled roofs surrounded by tropical vegetation that smells as lush as it looks and frothily sways in the warm breeze. I have to go back someday and do the entire coast now that I know the scene -- already 'HALF AGONY, HALF HOPE' just considering it, naturally -- preferably on a yacht; that seems to be THE THING. Meanwhile, I am having such a BRILLIANT time in London. I would love to stay here for one or two more weeks OR MY WHOLE LIFE. Just been walking around, enjoying the city which is really beautiful and elegant and fun. This afternoon, Miss Lola is Beauty and I hung out at the Wolseley having tea for three hours until they said SOHRRI LEIDEEEZ...and Elena the textile designer and I had lunch at ICA earlier and she gave me a lasercut fan piece that she made for her show at Central Saint Martins! After a surprisingly sublime dinner just now at Busaba Eathai I got lost and took a cab back to the Club and the driver said ORIGHT 'AVA GEWD NIGHT LUV and I like watching the telly in my room and drinking PG Tips with my electric kettle. I am going to do that right now actually... E cosi desio me mena. See you tomorrow night, New York!
sounds lovely...

This is shameless, but my new book, Radiant Days, takes place on the Dalmatian Coast in the mid-ninties. It might be of interest to anyone who's been.
