My Life in Pictures: Twinkle Twinkle

Cows_in_bar

This evening started off with my neighbor Kamy Wicoff's v.v. glamourous cocktail party for I Do But I Don't: Walking Down The Aisle Without Losing Your Mind, held in one of the city's best settings, The Library Bar at the Hudson Hotel. Today is officially "I Do Day," natch.

Unfortunately, after the forty-minute cab ride through absolutely gridlocked traffic from downtown, one drink and ten minutes while all I had to spare before dashing -- and I mean dashing -- out into a vicious thunderstorm (confession: I cut the cab line as usual).

I had to make it down to the LES by 8:30 for a private concert by Regina Spektor at the stunning Angel Orensanz Foundation, a once ornate, now enchantingly shabby, former synagogue that must be seen to be believed.

I've been there a few times and I like it quite a lot (Edison Woods played a magnificent set at an otherwise dull arts benefit I attended there a couple of years ago). The show tonight was awesomely, terrifyingly good and presented by The Artists Den, which I might join sometime.

The best part was that I hadn't seen the great Regina perform in a while and I honestly had no idea that she had become famous. Her new album, Begin to Hope, will be out on June 13th.
