Notes on a Style Party
This evening, I had the distinct pleasure of hosting thirty-five or so of the most stylish and charming personalities in town for an intimate yet very festive soiree at Lolita (we very much missed intended co-host of the evening, Beth Stellato of Just My Cup of Tea, who was called away at the very last moment due to circumstances beyond her control).
Some snapshots (no flash; that's vulgar):
Forgive me if I forget anyone - I am doing this all from memory! - and please feel free to sternly correct me in the comments if I've left you out, but it was lovely to see: Ami Greko of Penguin Books and her friend Kelli, Brian of 485i, Christine who blogs the news at jen bekman, Emma Garman, Emily of What to Wear This Very Second, Jen of Personism and her eponymous gallery, Jen and Petra of Fashion Journal, Julie of Design Dispatch, Marcy Dermansky, Martha and her friend Christopher-Ian, Melanie of Platinum Blonde Life and her boyfriend Tim, Nic of Miss Representation, Nichelle of Cupcakes Take the Cake, Portia Wells, Sarah and Sebastion of The Pink of Perfection, Shin-pei of Bird to the North, and several enchanting non-bloggers who joined us to see what the fuss was all about.
Many, many thanks to Stephen Carl of MaxDelivery.com, which very generously donated lots of delicious cupcakes (mine was red velvet!) from local sensation Sugar Sweet Sunshine - now available to order on demand from your laptop to your door (and believe me, you want to - MaxDelivery is tailor-made for the fashionista in you), and to his fabulous girlfriend Heather for accompanying him tonight. And also, a special thank you to Jen Bekman, The Blue Button Project, Marcy Dermansky, Pulse author Robert Frenay, The May Queen, Portia Wells, Quality of Life, Tayari Jones, Anne-Francoise Potterat of Art Chakra Yoga, The Power of Purpose: Living Well by Doing Good author Peter S. Temes, Trigger Magazine, and Soft Skull Press, for each, in their own way, making the giftbags worth giving. And thank you, as always, to Lolita for hosting us, and to Bryan, whose unflagging support of my numerous endeavors makes all of my best moments possible.
looks like so much fun! i am so sad i couldn't be there!
Lauren, we need to get started on planning the next one.
