Monday was a Funday

It's Friday afternoon but it doesn't seem that way... I guess because I started off the week in DC with a fabulous and well-attended party on Monday evening at Busboys and Poets celebrating The Untelling's forthcoming publication in paperback and the inimitable Tayari Jones, who is one of my publicity clients. She is also one of those authors constantly being called "a novelist to watch" (Essence) and "one of the most important writers of her generation" (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution), and yet she still finds time to rock a pink fur coat and roll her eyes at me when I take a photo outside of Ben's Chili Bowl over her protests because I know they love their celebrity wall of glamorous snapshots and I'm certain they're going to be dying to get their hands on this one day.
