Rhapsody In Blue
Last night I picked up keys to my new apt. and then went out with friends to the local outpost of darling Belgian restaurant mini-chain, Le Petite Abeille. Monday, as it happens, is half-price Belgian beer night. With that in mind, I happily got reacquainted with Chimay Bleu, which I last enjoyed in Brussels when I had post-dinner drinks with three American guys in town for a bicycle race.
Many of you will hate this next part, but there is a chain of stores in New York called Strawberry that sells ultratrendy cheap clothes, most of which are revolting; I stopped by just before going by the new place and bought a pair of gauchos, which, like the sadly overexposed poncho, I find utterly delightful. Unlike last week's less-than-keen experimental foray into the world of the mini-mini-skirt, the gaucho experience will likely become a staple of my late-summer/early-fall wardrobe.
